It’s normal to feel weak and defeated but relying on who He is, rather than in who I am, helps me stay positive and have hope amidst adversity. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer I have overcome the world. These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. Sometimes it’s really hard to believe that I will recover from this sorrow, but God is faithful to keep His promises and I know it will happen in perfect timing. He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. The grief and suffering of being betrayed by someone you loved and trusted is compounded by how lonely you feel in this time of mourning. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Praying, meditating, and connecting with our inner wisdom can help us find God in this emotional mess we’re in.
